ARS 1000 certification is an African standard for sustainable cocoa, developed by the African Regional Standards Organization (ARSO) and made mandatory in the Ivory Coast by decree.
It aims to promote and ensure the sustainability of cocoa production in Africa in environmental, social and economic terms. It is divided into two parts: ARS 1000-1, which covers requirements for management systems and producer performance, and ARS 1000-2, which deals with cocoa quality and traceability.
